1.Tourist Visa

A tourist visa is a type of visa intended for the general public who want to travel to a country for leisure purposes. Each country has its own rules for processing tourist visas. For example, Japan offers two types of visas: a visa waiver specifically for Indonesian e-passport holders, and a regular visa for holders of standard passports.

2.Business Visit Visa

A business visit visa is specifically intended for short-term business trips. For instance, when multinational companies send their representatives to another country for factory visits, meetings, or other business needs.

3.Business Visa

4.Diplomatic Visa

5.Official Visa

An official visa is intended for government-related visits, but not for diplomats. This visa can be issued to government representatives other than diplomats as well as representatives of international organizations.

6.Hajj Visa

A Hajj visa is a special visa requirement for anyone planning to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. If you attempt to perform Hajj using another type of visa, you risk deportation for violating regulations.

7.Student Visa

A student visa is specifically granted to students, whether school pupils or university students, who are studying abroad. It functions as a temporary residence permit while pursuing education in another country.

Types of Visas Based on the Application Process

When viewed from the application process, visas can also be divided into several categories:

1. Visa on Arrival (VoA): This type of visa is applied for directly upon arrival in the destination country at designated entry points. It can usually be processed at airports or seaports.
2. Visa Waiver: A visa with a simpler and easier process compared to regular visas. One example is Japan’s visa waiver program specifically for Indonesian e-passport holders.
3. Regular Visa: A general visa intended for everyone, depending on their travel purpose. Each country may have different requirements for this type of visa application.
4. Schengen Visa: A special visa for those who plan to visit countries within the Schengen area. This visa can be applied for at the embassy of any Schengen member state.

Types of Visas Based on Validity Period

Based on their validity period, visas are also divided into two categories:

1. Single-Entry Visa: This visa is valid for one-time entry. If you have used this visa and plan to return to the same country, you will need to apply for a new visa.
2. Multiple-Entry Visa: A visa allowing multiple entries, as long as both the passport and visa are valid. This type of visa is ideal for frequent travelers because you don’t need to apply for a new visa every time. However, the requirements for obtaining a multiple-entry visa are generally more complex compared to a single-entry visa.
