  • If the application is approved, you will receive a visa-waiver stamp on your e-passport, valid for 15 days for a single visit.

However, if you only have a regular passport (not an e-passport), you will need to apply for a visa by preparing these requirements:

  • Visa application form;
  • Passport (valid for six months);
  • Recent 4.5-cm-x-3.5-cm-sized photo (taken within the last six months);
  • Copy of Resident’s Identity Card (KTP);
  • Proof of travel tickets to Japan (roundtrip);
  • Itinerary during your stay in Japan;
  • Bank statements for minimum the last three months;
  • Proof of accommodation in Japan;
  • Family Card (KK) and birth certificate;
  • Form for correcting name typing error on your passport or KTP (can be downloaded from the visa application website)

Cost of and Location for Applying for a Visa to Japan

The cost of applying for a visa to Japan varies depending on the type of visa you are applying for. For example, a single entry visa costs around Rp400,000; multiple entry visa around Rp800,000; and transit visa around Rp90,000.

So, where can you apply for it? Since 2020, visa applications can be submitted to the JVAC located at Kuningan City, 2nd Floor, Unit L2-09, Jl. Prof. DR. Satrio No. Kav. 18, RT.14/RW.4, Kuningan, Karet Kuningan, Setiabudi Subdistrict, South Jakarta.

Before visiting theJVAC, you can make a reservation or appointment here. After submitting the visa application, the visa issuance process usually takes about four business days.
